Sorry I haven't updated in a while. My brother was in a bad car
accident and I spent most every day in the hospital for 2 weeks. Right
after that I had to go to Ohio for company training. I did get the bugs
worked out and sent the app to Apple before I left though. SafeCracker
v1.1 went live last night. I am making the game free for today and back
to $.99 tomorrow. The timer mode got set to 30 sec to start and then 10
sec for each dial. Turn based mode was changed to 4 tries for 2 dials
and 1 for each additional dial. These were changed because in testing
the other way there was too much time and too many attempts to ever
fail. Anyways enjoy.

Took a little while longer than I had hoped but SafeCracker v1.1 is
done.
The turn based and time based modes are finished and have their own
game over screens. Turn based mode gives 2 tries per dial and time
based gives 15 sec per dial. The data storage from what I can tell
should be ok without a fix. The problem doesn't seem to affect data
stored as "preferences". The handle turning is improved even more than
the other fix I had in place and should satisfy those who had troubles
before. Last the "yellow bug" should be fixed. So far as I can tell it
has something to do with setting a variable based on the dials and then
the value changing after the varible is set (which confuses the heck
out of me).
Anyways tomorrow I will get it put onto the device and test it for the
day just to make sure I haven't introduced any new problems I haven't
already fixed. After that it is off to Apple and I can start work on
the next game.

Well I didn't get quite as much done this weekend as I wanted to. I got
my Mini 9 converted over to OSX so I can use X-Code on the go.
Unfortunately that took almost a whole day. I did get the timed game
mode working complete with minutes:seconds format which was a bit of a
pain. Next step for SafeCracker is finishing up the turn limited mode.
I guess with how long I've been out of this any progress is good
progress.

I want to let everyone (meaning the few people who come to this site)
know that I am not dead. Nor have I abandoned SafeCracker. Shortly
after my last post I went to see a Cardiologist who told me that he
could cure my WPW Syndrome.
I had expected the process would take several months and I would have
to have many tests before they would perform the procedure. To my
surprise I got put into a rush situation with the surgery taking place
just a few weeks later.
I have now recovered from the procedure and the condition has been
completely cured. By the time all was said and done March was out the
window and part of April as well. Although I was recovered from the
procedure it has taken a while for me to get back in the "mood" to do
some iPhone programming.
I'm not going to promise that I will have a new version of SafeCracker
completed by this weekend because I don't like to make promises I may
not be able to keep (it is a holiday weekend and there will be family
stuff). I will however say that I am restarting the SafeCracker v1.1
update this weekend.

I have redesigned the site to work better on the iPhone/iPod touch.
Gone are the digital iPhone mockup and the scrollbars which don't play
nice on the handheld devices. Instead the site will now be pretty much
a simplified iPhone'esq interface with icons that link to the pages.
The SafeCracker is progressing further. I now have 3 new safes and 13
new items programmed in also the handle moves slightly if the safe is
still locked. I also have reworked the options screen to allow for the
selection of mulitple game modes. Still on the table to finish is the
new game modes, the yellow light bug that some people are having, and
porting the game's save information to a file rather than the game
preferences as it is more stable.

iPhone/iPod touch development site is now live. This site will be host
information on all of my iPhone development. Anyone with comments or
ideas about my apps please e-mail me using the contact button below.
Please remember I am one person doing this work in my free time.
